HOW TO WRITE A BOOK IN THREE DAYS!!

Now you may think I am just about to pull your leg. Actually I wish I could; then my title would read how to write a book in 24 hours!! I am not implying that writing a book is that easy, (Well it is) I am saying that from my personal experience it can be done in three days!!

My Secret? It has to do with your attitude, knowing what you want and realizing just how bad you want it! Yup plain and simple.

What is it that you really want? To live a full life or to live a life one thinking about what you could have done?
Now I have successfully managed to complete writing my first book, "Say Cheese, Or get Cheesed" (that is awaiting publishing) a book on smiling and how far a positive outlook can get you in life. Now when I decided to write on this particular topic I actually thought it would be easy until I discovered the term Procrastination. Initially when I began my book writing expedition, each time I was asked by a friend, family or colleague, about how far I had gone in as far as its completion, I would quickly reply it was almost done, when in reality I didn't even have a clue how the first chapter looked like.

Now all this changed the moment I met this lady who joined our millionaire circle program (a personal development training program that we used to run at my former employer's company). From the get go, Nancy appeared very confident and aggressive. She later came to prove to be more than just that. Day one she joined the training program, and during class we talked about writing books, and immediately she declared she was starting to write. To my shock and disbelief in a month she was done writing!!

Now you have to see where I am coming from. For a whole month I had been saying how "my 'book' is coming along" and this woman from nowhere comes and completely makes me seem like a joke. OK at least to myself. So a week later following this revelation, I got mad at myself and forced myself to sit and write write write. It took me two days to complete and one extra day to edit the content. Right now I sit in glee at my accomplishment. All that is missing is a few caricatures that I need to add to each of my chapters with the help of a good artist; and then I look for a publisher and I'm done.

You may find this hard to believe, but in those three days I learned a huge lesson. All you need to succeed in anything and everything that you do in life or that you want to accomplish, is an extra dose of motivation and you're well on your way. If it was not for Nancy, who made me feel silly for shouting about a non existent book, I'd still be wishing away.

So really what you need to do right now, right this minute is to get something that will make you feel so terrible about your complacency that you decide to act on those important things that you know you should do but are too lazy to do.

I hear you! for years now, I have being writing a book. Huge problem is that it's in my head. The good news, I am reaching that point of getting PROCRASTINATION(thief of dreams)out of my life and who knows, the three days will apply to me.

My comment comes in late but I guess it harms no one posting it. In a way you have just reminded me of a quote - 'By thought the thing is brought to you. By action you receive it.'
If you never had it in mind for that long, you wouldn't have done it.

... kudos for being in the paper.
